Over many happy years holidaying in the area when the boys were little, Denise and Kevin fell in love with the Perigord and decided to relocate to the Dordogne in the South West of France. After years of renovating they have turned a crumbly old farm and manor house into Redouline La Vieille Ferme – a Chambres D’hotes de Charme, offering good food and a warm welcome, where hopefully memories and friends are made.
For us Redouline is not just a business it is our home it is where our heart lies. We continue to restore Redouline to its former glory, it is a labour of love and sometimes consternation, but at the end of a hard day we know it is our little corner of calm and tranquillity where we can put our feet up and enjoy a bottle of the local red. When we are not working on Redouline we are working to ensure ou guests have a relaxing place to stay with good home-made food, using locally sourced seasonal ingredients. No matter what your dietary requirement we aim to provide you with an excellent meal.
As Executive Chef of WoW House Catering in the UK, Denise has catered for a range of clients from corporate such as Formulae One Racing teams through to private celbrations and weddings. Also as an ex Teacher of food and nutrition and hospitality Denise spent 14 years mentoring young chefs who now have gone on to success in their own right working and cooking their way around the world.
As a hopeless Francophile and Foodie Denise spends her spare time developing recipes using seasonal produce sourced from the local producers in the area. We are surrounded by a wealth of produce cheese and dairy products, meat from the local farmers, local chacuterie, eggs, fruit and vegetables and of course the local wine! A good bottle for the pot and a glass for the chef!
